Intermediate Web & Mobile Development

This unit deepens students’ practical skills in building interactive web and mobile interfaces by combining JavaScript programming patterns (closures, functions, DOM and element methods) with styling (CSS and Flutter widgets) and basic data handling workflows in Python. It also introduces deployment fundamentals and professional practices to prepare learners for more advanced application architecture and production-ready workflows in the next unit.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze and manipulate the Document and Element object properties and methods to create dynamic, interactive web page behaviors using JavaScript
• Apply closures, alternative function declarations, variable and array management, and event-driven patterns to produce modular, maintainable client-side code
• Demonstrate responsive styling and UI composition by implementing advanced CSS techniques and basic Flutter widgets (e.g., Expanded, TextField) to improve layout and user input handling
• Evaluate simple data workflows and deployment steps by performing basic Python data tasks (file I/O, categorical manipulation, bag-of-words, plotting) and deploying a web application to a cloud environment
