This unit expands foundational C# skills into practical application development by covering I/O, data access, networking, and modern UI frameworks (WPF/UWP/XAML). Students will combine advanced language features, .NET libraries, and tooling to build, modularize, and defend data-driven desktop and API components in preparation for capstone projects.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze and select appropriate I/O and data-access techniques (streams, readers/writers, System.Data, and file/network sources) to reliably ingest and serialize application data
- Apply WPF/UWP and XAML concepts—including controls, data binding, routed and custom commands—to design and implement interactive, data-driven user interfaces
- Demonstrate advanced C# language and design features (generics, inheritance, interfaces, ref/local functions, target typing, nullable handling, dynamic/DMR, and reference structs) by creating reusable class libraries and modular application components
