This unit orients students to the course roadmap by unpacking the book’s stated goals and helping learners position themselves within the learning community. Students will translate course-level objectives into personal learning goals and map relationships between individual roles and stakeholders to prepare for collaborative projects in subsequent units.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze the ‘Goal of the Book’ content to identify at least three course-level learning outcomes and the criteria used to assess them
- Apply the SMART goal framework to draft and document three measurable personal learning goals that correspond to course outcomes
- Demonstrate the ability to create a stakeholder map that categorizes at least four roles (e.g., student, peer, instructor, employer) and describes two key responsibilities or expectations for each
- Evaluate the alignment between personal learning goals and the course goals and revise one personal goal to improve its alignment and measurability
