C Language Fundamentals and Control Structures

This unit develops foundational C programming skills: syntax, operators, data types, input/output formatting, control flow, functions, and basic data structures. Students will build, test, and modularize small programs that use arrays, strings, and simple structures, preparing them for more advanced software development topics in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Apply C syntax elements (keywords, operators, data types, escape sequences, and conversion specifiers) and order of precedence to write correctly formatted input/output and expression evaluations.
• Demonstrate control flow by implementing conditional statements (including multiple-decision constructs) and for loops to solve programming tasks and interact via the command prompt.
• Analyze and apply functions, parameter passing, and variable scope, and use standard math and string library functions to modularize code and perform computations.
• Apply arrays, multidimensional arrays, string handling routines, and basic structure definitions to design, store, and manipulate collections of related data.
