Scaling Agile and Organizational Transformation

This unit explores advanced practices for sustaining and scaling agile across organizations, emphasizing leadership, metrics, team structure, automation, and change management. Students will learn to identify transformation pitfalls, strengthen psychological safety and product owner empowerment, and design transition strategies that improve predictability, investment control, and continuous improvement.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze organizational metrics, agile indicators, and performance-visibility data to diagnose health, detect slipping changes, and recommend measurable improvements to predictability and investment control
• Evaluate leadership behaviors, team structures, and cultural factors (including psychological safety and manager-to-creator ratios) to recommend interventions that increase team morale, developer versatility, and product delivery outcomes
• Apply transformation frameworks, toolkits, and automation/AI resources (e.g., ICAgile, Disciplined Agile, Business Agility Institute practices) to create a product goal, roadmap, and implementation plan that empowers Product Owners and Scrum Masters
• Design a transition support plan that addresses training/certification, governance, pitfalls of faux agile, and metrics for continuous improvement, and demonstrate how to monitor its effectiveness over time
