Foundations of CVs and Interviews

This unit develops foundational self-awareness, confidence, and practical skills for creating and marketing professional CVs and for preparing high-impact interviews. Learners will assess their work attitudes and goals, build and tailor a concise CV using effective formats and keywords, and practice interview techniques (questions, answers, body language, and composure) to prepare for more advanced job-search strategies in later units.

• Analyze personal attitudes toward work and career priorities to identify strengths, gaps, and clear job-search goals.
• Apply structured CV-development techniques—choose an appropriate format, use StandOut language, trim excess experience, and tailor content—to produce a professional, targeted CV draft.
• Demonstrate effective interview preparation and delivery by composing a strong introduction, answering common and behavioral questions, asking employer-focused questions, and using confident body language in a mock interview.
• Evaluate and implement targeted CV distribution and tracking strategies—selecting submission methods, optimizing keywords for applicant tracking systems, and adjusting approaches based on feedback.
