AI Integration in PM Processes

This unit teaches how to apply AI tools and models within project management planning and execution, emphasizing practical prompt engineering, the AI model development lifecycle, data security, and human-in-the-loop practices. It also develops people skills, professional development strategies, documentation and archiving workflows, and governance (do’s and don’ts) to prepare students for implementing AI-driven PM solutions.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze real-world prompt engineering techniques and select or design prompts that produce reliable project-management artifacts (e.g., plans, schedules, risk registers) for defined use cases
• Apply the six layers of the AI model development lifecycle to map project data flows, identify data security and compliance risks, and recommend technical and procedural mitigations
• Demonstrate human-in-the-loop integration and create documented executing and planning-phase workflows, including communication logs and archiving protocols, for AI-assisted project activities
• Evaluate people-focused considerations (soft skills, professional development, and governance do’s and don’ts) and develop a team training and oversight plan for ethical, secure AI use in project management
