This unit advances practical podcast production skills by combining portable and desktop workflows, integrating video for platforms like YouTube, and preparing students to publish and promote episodes. Students learn pre‑production planning (scripts, green room, intros/outros), live and remote recording techniques, basic audio editing in Audacity, and best practices for hosting, SEO, and social media promotion.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze platform and audience requirements to determine appropriate episode length, format, and whether to add a video element for distribution on podcast hosts and YouTube
• Apply portable and desktop audio workflows—using accessories, RØDE Streamer X/Streamlabs, portable recorders, cloud transfer, and Audacity—to capture and prepare broadcast‑quality recordings
• Demonstrate the end‑to‑end publishing process by uploading an episode to a podcast host, exporting/uploading video to YouTube, and implementing SEO and social media strategies to increase discoverability
