Enterprise Automation & Orchestration

This unit develops the practical skills and mindset needed to design, evaluate, and operate enterprise automation at scale. Students examine real-world use cases, map input and execution capabilities, and define the roles, technical components, and orchestration strategies that make robust automated workflows possible.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze multiple automation use cases (incident management, lead management, fine payment reporting, food delivery and loyalty) to identify candidate processes for automation and prioritize them based on ROI, complexity, and input-method constraints
• Apply principles of enterprise automation architecture to design an orchestration diagram that maps pillars, input methods, execution engine components, and required technical capabilities for an end-to-end or hybrid workflow
• Demonstrate operational readiness by defining roles, responsibilities, runbooks, and BigOps practices to support deployment, monitoring, and incident response for automated workflows
• Evaluate trade-offs between end-to-end and partial automation approaches by testing execution engine components and recommending orchestration and governance strategies that meet scalability, performance, and compliance requirements
