Windows 11 Configuration and Support

This unit develops practical skills for configuring Windows 11, managing user accounts and devices, organizing and transferring files, and applying basic troubleshooting and security measures. It builds on foundational navigation skills and prepares students to support end users and move into more advanced system administration and networking topics in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Demonstrate how to configure Windows 11 system and accessibility settings, manage user accounts, control startup/restart behavior, and connect or adjust peripherals (Bluetooth, printers, scanners) to optimize device usability
• Apply file and storage management techniques by creating and sharing folders, saving and locating documents, transferring files over private networks and external drives, and freeing up disk space while explaining how deletion and recovery work
• Evaluate and resolve common security and operational issues by using built‑in troubleshooters, running malware avoidance/removal procedures, using the Get Help app and Microsoft Community, and deciding when to escalate support
• Utilize communication and productivity features by browsing with Microsoft Edge, joining online meetings, creating and editing basic media (photos, Paint, Clipchamp), and extracting or copying Copilot answers for documentation
