Scaling and Sustaining Lean Six Sigma

This unit guides learners through launching, scaling, and sustaining a Lean Six Sigma program by selecting the right projects, engaging sponsors, and embedding controls and knowledge‑sharing practices. Students evaluate training and resourcing options, implement DMAIC projects, and prepare final benefit reviews and communications to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business strategy.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze organizational needs, customer CTQs, and performance data to generate and prioritize a list of candidate Lean Six Sigma improvement projects
• Apply DMAIC project setup and execution practices—including project charters, sponsor engagement, assumption testing, solution implementation, and control plans—to deliver measurable benefits
• Evaluate program deployment options (internal training, consultants, software, networks/associations) and recommend a strategy for starting, scaling, and sustaining a Lean Six Sigma program aligned with organizational strategy
• Demonstrate the ability to synthesize project results into concise artifacts (one‑page summaries, final benefit reviews, lessons learned) and design knowledge‑sharing activities to prevent complacency and support continuous improvement
