SAT Strategies and Math Foundations

This unit develops targeted reading, grammar, and math skills needed for the digital SAT while teaching test-taking tactics for the online, adaptive environment. Students practice time management, question-level strategies, key formulas, and pressure-management techniques to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze reading passages to identify main ideas, supporting evidence, and question types, and apply time-allocation strategies to complete passages within target time frames
• Apply standard grammar and usage rules (including agreement, pronouns, punctuation, and parallelism) to revise sentences and answer SAT-style grammar questions accurately
• Demonstrate problem-solving using key math tools—algebraic formulas, numerical simplification, coordinate graphing, 3-D measurement, and basic probability—to solve SAT-style questions efficiently
• Evaluate and apply online, adaptive test strategies and day-of-test routines (including paced breaks, stress-reduction techniques, answer-elimination methods, and navigation of the digital platform) to reduce mistakes under timed conditions
