Leading Through Uncertainty and Purpose

This unit introduces strategic leadership frameworks and decision-making practices for navigating uncertainty, balancing short- and long-term trade-offs, and aligning organizational purpose with technological change. Students explore tech-humanist principles, ethical considerations of action versus inaction, and communication strategies that create clarity and trust as a foundation for subsequent implementation-focused units.

• Analyze trade-offs between action and inaction in complex business scenarios by applying through-line and ecosystem thinking to identify short-term and long-term impacts on stakeholders
• Evaluate contrasting strategic leadership approaches (e.g., visionary, agile, slow-fast, tech-humanist) and recommend context-appropriate responses to uncertainty and transformation
• Apply tech-humanist principles to design a proposal that harnesses technology to uplift human outcomes while assessing ethical, social, and economic consequences
