Integrative Systems and Clinical Review

This capstone unit synthesizes prior anatomy and physiology study by applying system-level knowledge to clinical scenarios, diagnostic clues, and lifecycle events from birth through aging. Students consolidate identification skills, practice applied reasoning, and prepare for further coursework or assessments through targeted review and hands-on practice.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze clinical case studies that integrate reproductive, cardiovascular, digestive, musculoskeletal, and nervous system concepts to identify probable causes and justify diagnostic reasoning
• Apply principles of development, parturition, growth, and aging to predict normal physiological changes and distinguish them from pathological conditions
• Demonstrate accurate identification and functional relationships of major bones, joints, muscles, accessory digestive organs, and sensory structures in practical assessments
• Evaluate autonomic nervous system regulation, sleep physiology, and sensory input integration using formative assessment data and correct common misconceptions identified during review activities
