Governance and Future of Citizen Development

This unit examines governance, risk management, and management strategies needed to scale citizen development, low-code/no-code, and generative AI in business environments — including highly regulated industries. Students synthesize prior technical skills with policy, compliance, and change-management practices to prepare a safe, effective implementation roadmap and future-focused outlook.

• Analyze regulatory, security, and ethical risks associated with citizen development and generative AI across business contexts, prioritizing mitigation approaches for highly regulated industries
• Evaluate trade-offs between agility and control by comparing governance frameworks, approval workflows, monitoring practices, and risk-reward scenarios for low-code/no-code projects
• Apply best-practice processes, security controls, documentation standards, and BI integration techniques to design a compliant, scalable citizen development initiative
• Demonstrate leadership and change-management strategies to address common failure modes, managerial challenges, and adoption barriers, and produce an implementation roadmap for citizen automation
