This unit introduces foundational concepts in artificial intelligence and core investment principles used in financial services and investment management. Students learn how AI chatbots and tools work (including prompt design, inputs/outputs, and limitations) while gaining working knowledge of investment vehicles, basic analysis methods, and introductory financial planning considerations to prepare for more advanced, AI-enabled portfolio strategies.

- Analyze foundational AI concepts, chatbot behaviors, and prompt-engineering techniques and identify common sources of inaccuracy and error when using models such as ChatGPT
- Evaluate AI-enabled investing tools and general investing resources for reliability and suitability in preliminary investment research
