Finalization, Accessibility, and Portfolio

This capstone unit guides students through the final phases of the design process: iteration, accessibility, legal/asset management, production, and professional presentation. Students will refine deliverables, document process work, prepare adaptive outputs, and build a portfolio that communicates proficiency and readiness for real-world roles.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze feedback from peers, external reviewers, and usability checks to make iterative revisions that meet project goals, accessibility needs, and cost constraints
• Apply accessibility and typographic best practices—including colorblind‑friendly charting, appropriate font size and leading, and avoidance of common typographic errors—to improve legibility and inclusivity of deliverables
• Demonstrate correct documentation and stewardship of assets by implementing licensing, usage agreements, and ethical practices for AI‑generated and third‑party content while applying cost‑reduction strategies during finalization
• Evaluate and update a professional portfolio by including process work, optimized keywords, dynamic/adaptive design examples, and propose at least one new design role or workflow change to support ongoing career development
