Designing and Managing Presentations

This unit builds intermediate PowerPoint skills for creating, formatting, and preparing presentations for sharing and delivery. Students will learn to organize files and collaborate in the cloud, craft and style slide content (tables, charts, SmartArt, WordArt, shapes, and images), apply multimedia and recording tools, and follow design principles that improve audience comprehension.

Learning Objectives

• Apply OneDrive and Teams file-management workflows, naming conventions, and saving/opening procedures to organize, back up, and share presentation files reliably
• Demonstrate insertion, manipulation, and formatting of slide elements including tables, charts (and chart data), SmartArt, WordArt, shapes, and styled pictures, as well as adjustment of slide size, headers/footers, and background styles for consistent visual design
• Analyze slide design and content choices using accessibility and presentation principles (text size, bullet count, emphasis, and restraint of formatting) to improve clarity and audience engagement
• Evaluate and use multimedia and collaboration tools — including recording features, media compression, and Copilot sidebar edits — to finalize, optimize, and prepare presentations for delivery
