Enterprise AI Implementation and Ethics

This capstone unit focuses on operational, ethical, legal, and governance considerations for deploying AI across the enterprise. Students synthesize prior technical and business knowledge to evaluate build-versus-buy and hosting choices, identify and mitigate bias, ambiguity, and unintended consequences, and design compliant, transparent deployment plans for solutions such as chatbots and smart-city systems.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze build-versus-buy and cloud-versus-on-premises trade-offs (cost, scalability, control, security, and compliance) and recommend an appropriate deployment approach for a given enterprise scenario
• Evaluate AI applications for transparency, explainability, data bias, data ambiguity, and problem-framing flaws, and prescribe targeted mitigation strategies to reduce risk
• Apply augmented analytics and intelligent text-mining techniques to extract actionable insights while documenting limitations and potential unintended consequences
• Develop and present an ethical governance and deployment plan that addresses privacy, legal compliance, monitoring, stakeholder communication, and contingency/rollback procedures for enterprise AI solutions (e.g., chatbots, smart city implementations)
