AI-Enhanced Instructional Design

Builds on foundational AI knowledge to guide educators in designing active, inclusive, and assessment-driven lessons using AI tools. Learners will apply project- and inquiry-based strategies, Bloom’s Taxonomy, differentiation, formative and summative assessment design, and remote/inclusive adaptations to produce AI-generated learning assets and lesson plans that support diverse learners and prepare for implementation in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze multiple AI-enhanced active learning, problem- and project-based, and inquiry-based instructional strategies and select appropriate approaches for a specified grade level and content area
• Apply Bloom’s Taxonomy to design a complete AI-supported lesson plan (including objectives, activities, and assessment items) that targets higher-order thinking skills
• Demonstrate the ability to create at least two differentiated and inclusive AI-generated learning assets (e.g., modified worksheets, scaffolded prompts, language supports) tailored for students with disabilities, ELLs, or varied readiness levels
• Evaluate and construct aligned formative and summative assessment tools (including AI-generated quizzes, performance tasks, and rubrics) and adapt them for remote/ distance delivery while ensuring validity and equity
