Interactive Front-End Development

This unit solidifies advanced front-end skills by teaching JavaScript control flow, functions, arrays, and event-driven DOM manipulation alongside practical CSS sizing, alignment, and mobile-first layout strategies. Students will learn debugging and testing techniques, manage web storage and external scripts, and implement accessibility best practices to produce responsive, keyboard-friendly, and semantically correct web pages.

Learning Objectives

• Demonstrate mastery of JavaScript functions and control flow by passing and returning values, creating anonymous and arrow functions, implementing for and do…while loops, controlling loop execution, and preventing infinite loops
• Apply DOM manipulation and event-driven programming to modify HTML attributes and CSS (styles and sizes), handle and trigger form events (including radio buttons and selection lists), create keyboard shortcuts, manage web storage, and schedule future function execution
• Analyze and debug front-end code using developer tools, breakpoints, stepping, console monitoring, and validation to identify and fix common JavaScript errors and exceptional cases
• Evaluate and implement accessibility and responsive design practices by ensuring semantic markup, keyboard accessibility, sufficient color contrast, and mobile-first alignment and layout techniques
