Web App Deployment and Iteration

This unit brings together HTML, basic backend scripting, debugging, and professional workflows to complete, ship, and improve a small web project. Students will build a simple website and form-text formatter, practice debugging and deployment techniques, and collect and act on user feedback while communicating project outcomes.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze development steps and select appropriate solutions and separation-of-concerns strategies for building a maintainable web project
• Apply HTML and string-manipulation techniques (including a simple Ruby formatter) to create a working website and user-input form
• Demonstrate debugging strategies and use of online resources, developer tools, and versioning workflows to identify, fix, and prepare code for deployment
• Evaluate user feedback and iterate on code and design, and document and share project results and lessons learned with peers and stakeholders
