This unit explores design choices, real-world applications, and methods to measure business value for Microsoft 365 Copilots. Students will learn to prototype with Copilot Studio, map a proposal business process, and evaluate ethical, technical, and financial factors to inform implementation planning.
Learning Objectives
- analyze trade-offs between customizing an existing Microsoft Copilot and creating a stand-alone Copilot—considering integration complexity, maintainability, security, and cost—and recommend the best approach for the proposal use case
- apply Microsoft Copilot Studio to configure a working prototype by selecting data sources, building prompts and connectors, setting permissions, and documenting implementation steps
- evaluate real-world AI productivity applications and calculate business value by estimating quantitative ROI, time savings, and relevant KPIs for the proposal use case
- demonstrate mapping of the proposal business process into a Copilot workflow by producing a process map, user stories, acceptance criteria, and an ethical risk mitigation checklist addressing privacy, bias, and compliance
