Natural Language & Generative AI with Azure

This unit covers core natural language and speech processing techniques, fundamentals of generative models, and practical application using Azure AI and Azure OpenAI services. Students learn preprocessing, modeling, evaluation, and responsible deployment practices while integrating Azure Language, Speech, Translator, Cognitive Search, and OpenAI capabilities into end-to-end solutions.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze NLP pipelines (preprocessing, language modeling, classification, information extraction, speech, and translation) and select appropriate techniques for defined problem scenarios
• Apply Azure AI Language, Speech, Translator, Cognitive Search, and Azure OpenAI services to design and integrate end-to-end NLP or generative AI solutions using service APIs and integration patterns
• Demonstrate methods for training, fine-tuning, and running inference with generative models, and use evaluation metrics and alignment techniques to assess generation quality and safety
• Evaluate ethical, privacy, and bias risks in NLP and generative AI applications and recommend mitigation, monitoring, and responsible deployment strategies
