Advanced Slide Design & Collaboration

This unit develops advanced slide-composition, multimedia, and collaboration skills by teaching students to refine visuals, data displays, and layouts using PowerPoint tools and AI assistance. Students will also learn professional practices—copyright, accessibility, consistent templates, and audience-focused delivery—preparing them to produce polished presentations and transition to performance and portfolio tasks in the final unit.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze existing slides for visual hierarchy, concise wording, consistent templates, color scheme adherence, and accessibility issues and document specific revisions to improve clarity and audience focus
• Apply advanced formatting and editing techniques to images, SmartArt, tables, charts, and shapes (including compression, color/contrast/sharpness adjustments, flipping/rotation, layout/style changes, and placeholder restoration) to enhance visual communication
• Demonstrate effective use of PowerPoint production and collaboration tools—real-time coauthoring, comments, pinning, recording slide shows, Designer, and Copilot—by structuring prompts, refining AI output, and validating suggestions for accuracy
• Evaluate ethical and audience-centered presentation decisions (copyright compliance, restrained animation/sound, color choices, call-to-action clarity, and consistent wording) and defend design choices using industry and pathway standards
