Foundations of AI Prompting and Tools

This unit establishes foundational knowledge of AI types, text-generation techniques, prompt design, and common multimodal tools (text, image, audio) while introducing account management, usage considerations, and business applications such as customer service and personal branding. It also examines ethical, legal, and operational risks and prepares learners for subsequent units on advanced prompt engineering, UX optimization, and deployment.

• Analyze different AI model types and text-generation techniques to select appropriate approaches for specific business tasks across text, image, and audio modalities
• Apply prompt-design principles to craft, test, and iterate prompts using common AI writing assistants and multimodal tools while managing accounts, usage limits, and basic terms-of-service considerations
• Evaluate ethical, legal, and operational risks (including bias, privacy, and terms of service) and propose mitigation strategies and guidelines for responsible use
• Demonstrate how conversational AI and writing assistants can support customer journeys, personal branding, and automation of repetitive tasks, and create a basic workflow and upskilling plan for AI-resilient roles
