Advanced C# Application Patterns

This capstone unit explores advanced C# language features, application patterns, and tooling needed to build robust, maintainable .NET applications. Students will work with advanced types and members, collections and I/O, event- and delegate-based designs, and debugging/error‑handling techniques to prepare for real-world project development.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze advanced C# type and member features (records, structs, classes, interfaces, constructors, static and expression-bodied members, access modifiers, and partial methods) to design modular, maintainable components.
• Apply C# data structures and input/output mechanisms — including lists, dictionaries, arrays and collection initializers, tuples, streams, and console/WPF I/O — to implement programs that read, process, and precisely format data.
• Demonstrate event-driven and delegate-based programming by implementing events, anonymous/static anonymous functions, covariant returns, and interface abstractions to achieve decoupled, extensible behavior.
• Evaluate program correctness and robustness using debugger and exploratory tools (including Jupyter and debugger-assisted inspection), throw expressions, ref/out semantics, and error-handling patterns to locate and fix defects.
