AI Integration and Optimization

This unit teaches how to integrate AI into project management workflows, tools, and methodologies to improve scheduling, reporting, resource allocation, and team performance while addressing ethics, data quality, and security. It builds on foundational AI and PM concepts from earlier units and prepares students to apply these integrations in the final capstone unit.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze and compare AI tools and integration strategies across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies to recommend appropriate solutions for specific project contexts.
• Apply AI-driven techniques to automate scheduling, task management, reporting, and resource allocation within common PM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, Monday.com) and document resulting workflow changes.
• Evaluate AI performance and return on investment by defining metrics, collecting and analyzing performance data, and conducting cost-benefit and risk assessments for proposed AI implementations.
• Demonstrate ethical and secure AI implementation by creating a user-centered integration plan that addresses data quality, privacy/security considerations, change management, translation needs, and governance.
