Emerging Technologies Capstone for Entrepreneurs

This capstone unit synthesizes trends in GenAI, Web 3.0, the metaverse, 5G-connected wearables, and extended reality to explore practical marketing and small‑business applications. Students will prioritize use cases, design pilot/MVP plans with change‑management considerations, and define secure, ethical implementation roadmaps for entrepreneurial ventures.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze GenAI, Web 3.0, metaverse, 5G, and XR use cases to identify at least three viable marketing or product opportunities for a small business and justify selections with feasibility and market impact criteria
• Apply pilot project and MVP methodologies to develop a concise prototype plan (including scope, success metrics, timeline, and change‑management steps) for one selected emerging‑technology solution
• Demonstrate secure identity and privacy practices by comparing public vs. private data strategies and passwords vs. passkeys, and produce an online‑presence plan that mitigates identified security and reputational risks
• Evaluate ethical, legal, technical, and adoption challenges (including AGI concerns, NFT/metaverse governance, and frictionless commerce) and produce an implementation roadmap that lists required technologies, anticipated barriers, and measurable adoption indicators
