Leading AI Transformation in Manufacturing

This capstone unit prepares emerging manufacturing leaders to scale and govern AI across organizations and industries, synthesizing lessons on cross-sector AI applications, sustainability, ethics, workforce change, and organizational design. Learners will develop practical plans for moving pilots into full-scale, trusted AI integration— including generative/agentic systems—while aligning culture, governance, and talent strategies.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze cross-industry case studies (finance, retail, energy, supply chain) to identify AI-driven opportunities, risks, and governance implications for manufacturing leaders
• Apply change management and scaling frameworks to create a detailed plan for transitioning AI pilots to full-scale integration, including communication strategies, stakeholder alignment, and generative/agentic AI deployment steps
• Demonstrate the ability to design an ethical AI governance policy and privacy safeguards for manufacturing and environmental monitoring that address bias, transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance
• Evaluate workforce transformation strategies and produce a reskilling and organizational-design roadmap that aligns incentives, addresses psychological impacts, and empowers employees for an AI-enabled future
